KRISTAFER ABPLANALP earned a B.A. in Modern Culture of the Humanities with a concentration in Literature, Philosophy and Art History from the University of Louisville.  In addition to working as an JCPS educator since 2007, and at Manual since 2014, he has served on the board of the Louisville Film Society, as an art handler for 21C Museum and as a music editor for a print publication.  His JCPS email is kristafer.abplanalp@jefferson.kyschools.us.

 

MARGARET MATTINGLY  earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Earth Science and a Masters in Teaching from the University of Louisville. She currently advises The Crimson yearbook, which is the 5th yearbook publication she has advised, and teaches photojournalism. She has taught in JCPS since 2000 and has been part of the J&C magnet since 2015.  She sponsors Quill and Scroll, a journalism national honor society, and plans many of the J&C trips. LIZ PALMER, CJE, studied journalism and English at the University of Georgia and the University of Louisville, then wrote and designed for local publications before earning a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisville. Ms. Palmer is the recipient of the Enoch Grehan Prize, the Journalism Education Association (JEA) Special Recognition Adviser Award, the JEA Rising Star Award, the WKU James L. Highland Media Adviser of the Year,  the S’Park Media Mentor Award, the duPont Manual PTSA’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Jefferson County Teachers Association’s Spotlight Award.
