Categories and types of content

The RedEye site offers content in four distinct categories: Academics, Sports, Local, and Opinion. Each of these categories can include any type of content appropriate to the story, and all staff members are encouraged to experiment with a variety of online tools and test the limits of the medium.

In the past, the site has included a “Creative” category for staff members to publish music videos, short films and skits. The 2015 staff is revamping this section into a submission-based feature section, called “Community.” Students can email RedEye (manualredeye@outlook.com) with their writing, photography, or videos and a staff member will format and publish it in the Community section (as long as it meets the standards defined in the RedEye Community section).
