In the past, the RedEye staff has incorporated different sections of the website that feature non-news contributions submitted by students at Manual or by staff members. With the “Creative” and “Humor” sections, the site has had issues both of presenting the student body with a concrete submission system and of blurred lines between staff members’ journalistic and non-journalistic content. In 2015, the Editors in Chief resolved this issue by launching RedEye Community, a forum through which students (and staff members) can submit creative work for publication. RedEye community serves as the much-needed firewall between staff members’ journalistic and creative work, and more importantly, provides the student body with a concrete system for content submission. One editor should be responsible for accepting submissions via email (manualredeye@outlook.com) and publishing them on Wordpress.
